EA Makes Fun of Single Player Games – Internet Does Not React

EA’s Twitter account made fun of single-player games in a joke. The company was not pleased with the reaction and had to correct the error.

EA jumped on the bandwagon and tweeted (below), “they’re 10 but they only like single-player games.” The tweet was odd in and of itself, considering that EA publishes many single-player games like Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, Star Wars Jedi, Fallen Order, or The Sims 4. However, what began as a joke quickly grew to be a well-placed one.

EA’s Respawn Entertainment head Vince Zampella, Jacksepticeye and the Game Awards host Geoff Keighley were among the Twitter users who shared the discreditment in the replies. Many others laughed at EA and criticized it in retaliation.

Tweets compared Jedi Fallen Order to EA’s multiplayer Star Wars title, Battlefront II. This game was widely criticized for its microtransactions system and loot boxes system. Others pointed out that EA recently announced a remake (single-player) of Dead Space and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

EA acknowledged the error after nearly 9,000 responses and 10,000 tweets expressing disapproval. The company then tweeted, “Roast well earned. We’ll take the L, because playing single-player games makes them an 11.
